Rimini is a major international tourist destination and seaside resort, among the most famous ones in Europe and the Mediterranean basin, thanks to a long sandy beach, well-equipped bathing establishments, theme parks and a number of opportunities for leisure and spare time.
Since the 70’s Rimini has become the number one Italian party city and for the summer time the population triples with people coming from all over Italy and the rest of the world.
I personally spent many summers with my family in some of the best beaches around Rimini and after so many years I decided to come back for the winter time trying to capture in visual aerial images the difference between the summer busy season with thousands of people on the beach and in the water, and the more calm and relax winter time, a season for quite and peaceful walks and cold magic sunrises.
In recent years there have been many development projects to improve the sewer system and to clean the beaches with new rocks formation known as “scogli” to protect the shores from sea rubbish and to keep the waters cleaner for people and marine wildlife.
No more stretched sunbeds or open umbrella, but just a charming summer city in it’s months of deserved rest and empty shores.
